Jerry Eugene Williams was born on June 21, 1946 in Attalla, Alabama to the late James Williams and Marion Yancey Williams. Jerry had two brothers (Reggie and James). The family later relocated to Chicago, Illinois where his sister (Regina) was born. Jerry grew up in the East Woodlawn community after moving from Wentworth Gardens.
